One of the discussions in our Executive board meeting this evening was the recent club discusssion reguarding the No Fly Restrictions that now include RC Aircraft. Our Proximity to Camp David has made this a hot topic.

Good News. The AMA has assured us that we are clear and the current no fly restriction rules do not pertain to us when they are in effect. The algorythms used for the 10 NM range put us outside the restricted area. Should anything change on this matter our club contact (President Tobey) would be notified immeduiately.

So there you have it. No worries and no flying restrictions..

Enjoy!!!!
This is good news. I am glad the information was brought up and that we followed through with checking up on it. The national airspace is being actively reviewed at this time. There are rules being made to cover sUAS (small unmanned aerial systems) and RC models fall into this group. Anything we can do to prevent negative publicity will help preserve this hobby we all love. The freedom we have enjoyed for decades could be lost in short order to a couple of thoughtless people "just having fun" one weekend.
