Indoor Flying venue?
Anyone out there know of a nice indoor arena we as a group or club could rent for a few hours on weekends? It sure would be nice to do some indoor flying during the winter months...

Cheers,
Steve

If there is interest, I'd like to organize a session or two. Trick is finding a place that will allow us to do it and not charge an arm and a leg!!

Hobby Hangar in Chantilly VA does this several times every winter. They rent an indoor soccer field for a couple three hours late in the evening (like 11-1). They get pretty good turnouts. Does Hagerstown have one of these indoor sports arenas? If not, Frederick does and perhaps we could coordinate with FMAC.

There is an indoor Tennis complex in Williamsport called 4-Star. I plan to contact them when I get a chance and see if they would consider letting us come in, and if so, how much do they charge. However, it may be better to go to Frederick and combine with a couple of clubs to make it cheaper. I hope to have some info by the November meeting.

Spoke with the folks at 4-Star. They are willing to rent to us for about $75 per hour. Don't think that's unreasonable. We'll talk more at the upcoming meeting.
