I wanted to post some pics of the AfterBurner Light ring I had just made for my Scorpion. I made this following some posts on RCUniverse. I flew it Sunday late afternoon/evening to see how they looked. Sad to say unless you were there this past Sunday you will not get to see them in action. I had an orientation problem flying Sunday evening in the setting sun and there no longer is a Scorpion with my name on it. It was a sad day....

One of the saving graces it that it did not burn and I have only lost the airframe. Slight damage to the Turbine - I sent it back to the factory today for repair. All the electronis seem to be in good shape...

I want to thank Eddie Miller and Jim Sanders for helping me find it and bring it out of the cornfield. I don't think I could have done it without them.

And as always something to live by in this hobby...

I like the A-10 Idea

I was to be there sunday but my kids were in an kart accident head on thanks to the full roll cage no one was hurt

Great idea on the A-10. Although it would be fun - that investment is definately out of my range. Smile

I've got a quote on a replacement Scorpion Airframe and seeing what Andy Kane can do on a Comp-Arf Flash. The benefit to going with same plane is the familiararity of it and I can also reuse everything including the $900.00 Gear set. We'll see.

Well this new one showed up back in October. I finally have had time to work on it now that my garage/workshop is complete.

It is now 98% done. Aviation Design really improved the kit since my first model from them. Still a lot of work goes into getting one of these birds ready to fly. I just test fired the turbine and it fired right up like it always did... Jet Central engines are so reliable and their support has been 2nd to none!!!!
