LATEST NEWS-

Great turnout for the fall business meeting at Dimensions Dining in Funkstown.  The food was great, the service very good and we got a lot of good ideas for 2012!  Thanks for everyone who came out!

Thanks to everyone who came out and contributed to the Shrimp Feed!  We had a very nice turnout and A LOT of great food!  Check out the pictures!

The Pegasus/FMAC IMAC Classic was held July 30-31 at the club field. Thanks to all that came out to show their support for the event. There were 21 competitors from as far away as Connecticut that competed in 5 rounds of IMAC precision aerobatic flying. We had nice flying weather despite the lingering heat. Special thanks to Brad Davy from our neighbor FMAC club in Frederick for running such a great event.

Congrats to our 5 participating local club members on their results-

Mike Hornbaker - 1st place Sportsman Class
Earle Andrews - 2nd place Sportsman Class

Mike Frey - 2nd place Basic Class
Dan Bradshaw - 4th place Basic Class
Tom Middlekauff - 5th place Basic Class

Mike Hornbaker also took 1st place in the Freestyle competition.

The Pegasus First Annual Flight for Cancer was held on Saturday, June 18, 2011.  The club was raising money for Hagerstown, Maryland's John Marsh Cancer Center's Patient Assistance Fund.  The day long event featured 20 registered pilots flying an awesome spectrum of R/C aircraft from jets to 42% Extras, large scale ships to micros and helis.  We also had simulators set up for the spectators and 11 were brave enough to step up and get on the buddy box.  Pilots came as far away as Herndon, VA and Berkeley Springs, WV to participate.  The event raised a total of $4,425 for the charity.  Click here to see the pictures.

My sincere thanks to everyone who helped pull this event together!

The Pegasus Solar Powered DC power system is up and operational so members will be able to charge their batteries at the field without draining their car batteries. Here are some pictures taken during the trenching and conduit work to run power to the individual charge stations. Thanks to Andy for the design and all the work and supplies he has provided, Paul for the use of the Ditch Witch and various supplies, and Hoot for the labor helping with the trenching..
